'A portrait a week of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013'

I had about a dozen photos pegged for this week's portrait (considering we only have 4 weeks left - yikes!), but this one today stole my heart.  There was something new yet so familiar about picking out the Christmas tree today.  Watching him look in wonder and run through the rows of trees with his Pappa made me melt, I am truly grateful.  Cheers - to the Holidays!

Around Here : Fall

It's Fall!  Really Fall!

This time of the year means more projects, A LOT of recording, busy schedules AND...

Soren's birthday (next month!), leaves changing color and falling, building stick forts, playing sports, making stone soup and tossing ball with the pup.  Our days off are few and far between but our little family takes advantage of every moment we get together.

Soren is potty trained and loving it!  He's getting the hang of public restrooms and is proud to go through the process every time (wipe, flush, move stool, wash hands, then - 'good job!!').  His independence is soaring, more than that - his inter-dependence .  He loves being around other kids.  Introducing himself, working as a team, even taking turns!  Our landlady's six year old grandson came over today and played baseball with Soren.  He had a blast and learned so much from him!

Have a wonderful fall weekend.  We have tomorrow morning together and if the weather cooperates we are headed to Kinds Island to see the dinosaurs or if it rains I am hoping to catch the City Flea at their indoor location!

Insta.weekend

Rick and I hit the pillows hard last night after our fun-filled weekend.  Here is a wrap up with instagram.

Friday - started with a run, then studied some scores and Soren helped blanche, peel and cook up some tomatoes.

Saturday - Soren celebrated some sweet City Flea finds, did a photo session, cuddled the pup then I was off to the Pops to record.

Sunday - started with Banana muffins that led to Gidget's epic b-day bash.  Rick and I ended the evening with this really great documentary on Butch Walker .

So fun.  Family life is pretty awesome....

Five on Friday

Five links this fabulous Friday:

This adorable family's videos are up on ulive!  check it out!  Olive Us episodes are quick and fun!  Hey Rick, move to France perhaps...??

Can't wait to grab one of these for Soren - inspired by this great Montessori blog.

LOVE the style of this home.  From the white walls to the furniture.  Even the bean bag chair!

Wish I could over turn our kitchen like this.  Subway tile is a great idea for a backsplash and adore white cabinets.  Then maybe I could snag some white plates and do this

My hair is almost long enough for this.

Looking forward to wrapping these pseudo-locks into braids as the seasons turn!
