Is a must see this weekend at Music Hall with the Cincinnati Symphony Orcehstra, Womens May Festival Choir and Cincinnati Boychoir with Soloist Stephanie Blythe - led by the legendary Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos. They had an amazing performance last evening and you can catch it again on Saturday, 8pm ET. This is a great event - no intermission and 100 minutes of heavy, impacting - philosophically tenured tunes. It's worth the pennies for this show and is stunning from any seat - including mine in the booth. Soren even helped me mix the dress rehearsal!

This weekend is also accompanied by a performance of the Vocal Arts Ensemble at Memorial Hall on Sunday at 3pm ET. The arts are on fire this season in Cincinnati - be a part of it all!

NPR Pledge Weekend

This weekend is a big one for PUBradio as we lead our fall pledge drive into the Saturday and Sunday. Today is WGUC's 52nd anniversary and we celebrate by, well - asking for bucks. Here at Cincinnati Public Radio, we cover local and international events and provide NPR programming on a daily basis - entertainment and news. We have been active in covering local and national politics so that our listeners can be informed voters. We support local artists by covering over 100 recordings a year and broadcasting those events on our stations. We have hosts and producers that speak with local artisans and performers - writers and columnists and even host local blogs online. Please contribute - please keep your radio station on the air.

Soren wanted to wish you all a happy weekend!

My weekends off with my family are dwindling - as the performance season is around the corner. Pappa has a busy weekend ahead working on a film score with talented composer William White - so Soren and I will be bringing the ruckus to Cincy's parks, finish his tent and start in on some more sewing and knitting projects (Soren might end up with a corduroy jacket and camp/pom-pom hat…no promises though…). It's Friday! Which actually means something to me. I usually work weekends, especially holidays - but not this one! Looking forward to spending time with my guys and spinning through a web of DIY ideas, work shenanigans and home hunting or improving. Much to think about friends! Have a good weekend! And we're back! Oh, I miss Tybee!!! ...and I'm not the only one.

Yesterday morning Soren pulled out his shovels and grabbed his truck and beep, beeped his way across the apartment ready for the beach. Big sad face! In leu of the ocean, he started the faucet in the tub and jumped in! Diaper and all! Love that little man.

But still, it is SO good to see the pup - missed her so much! And it's good to be back to our kitchen - with our food. The weekend will make for a good re-set before a very busy season. Here's a wrap up of Tybee. This is a great vacation spot for families, couples and singles. I highly recommend it. Not to mention Savannah is only 20 minutes away!
